Montessori Elementary 5 (ME5)

We are pleased to offer Montessori Elementary 5 (ME5) for 11 years of age. The modules will be taught using the Montessori approach, which includes one-to-one, one-to-few and one-to-all presentations. Modules include Geography, History, Biology, Geometry, Math, English. Below are the module details for the same:

Course Module Outline of Module
ME5 Geography Two very diligent agents are at work on Earth: air and water. It builds on the idea that air and liquids have a role in shaping the Earth. The chapter on the work of Air covers the properties of air, the different types of wind and how air affects the sea currents. The sections within the chapter include the work of the river, rains, waves, and ice. We look at water in both the solid and the liquid state. We are going to see what effect it has on shaping the Earth. We will look at the water cycle. This connects the work of air and water. We then look at how water and its distribution are responsible for the spread of vegetation and how this affects plant and animal life.
ME5 History The children learn about the world history.
ME5 Biology The children learn about Ecology. Ecology is the study of the relationships between plants and other plants, plants and animals, and both plants and animals and the physical geography. It tells about adaptation and variation and the delicate balance that exists in nature.
ME5 Geometry The children are introduced to Pythagoras and Euclid’s theorams. Euclid’s plate is an extension to the work with the Pythagoras plates. The two theorems of Euclid are related to the Pythagorean Theorem and it is presented to the children in a sensorial way.
ME5 Mathematics When the children’s knowledge and foundation of the Decimal system is strong, they learn about Numeration in other bases. They also learn about the Powers of Numbers and Exponential Notation.
ME5 English The children learn to analyse sentences. Sentence analysis provides children with a study of groups of words and the ways they are brought together to express a complete thought. The primary purpose of Sentence Analysis is to help the children think, write and express themselves clearly.
